    stock 2021 TRD off road
I have a stock 21 TRD offroad and I have recently been looking into lifts for the truck. I don't plan on doing any crazy off-roading mostly on road use but I do want to lift the truck and get some bigger tires. I know fox and king are pretty popular in the suspension world. I have also read a little about the bilstein 6112 as well as icon. Trying to get a little more info on what others are running to help narrow my decision down.

I'll let the rest of the forum membership chime in with their experiences, but I encourage you to give us a call here at Hotshot Offroad. We can absolutely help you out, and can give you the time to hit us with as many questions as you can muster! 406-936-0206

Can you share how much weight, if any, that you have on/in the truck? Bed caps, armor, etc.

If you’re going to do light off road and truck is a daily driver consider Bilstein 5100. I was looking at the 6112 but they are double the price and couldn’t justify the $$ for my usage.
I have 5100 with 885 springs with 1.5” at front and 5125 rear with RXT leafs option 2 for 2.75” in the back.
Cost for everything was about $1500.
If you contact Hotshot Off Road they will take the time to talk to you. I started with an inquiry on their website and they replied which led to a phone call.
Also Shock Surplus has a bunch of informative videos on YouTube. I reached out to them also but they never responded.

Whatever you get will ride worse on the road, may as well go as cheap as possible without getting blocks with 5100s and coils and an add-a-leaf. 1/4” top plate spacer and leave the overload leaf in if you want some small cheap blocks in with it.

SR5 cheapo shocks and TRD OR shocks you already have ride best.

What “look” are you going for tire wise? Size? Going to have to trim a bit at the very least if you want anything beefy looking.

This really comes down to budget and the ride quality you want.

If you just want to level the front 1" for the least amount of money, grab whatever top hat spacer you like that will get you to the lift you want.

If you want to be a little bit more legit but still keep factory suspension, it's hard to do better than the one offered by Westcott: https://westcottdesigns.net/product/toyota-tacoma-trd-off-road-preload-collar-lift-kit/

Beyond that, it all depends how much you want to spend. I spent a lot lol.

Wrong! If you design your suspension correctly it will ride much better than stock.

Agreed, my truck rides much better than the stock crap that was on it. Wife approved.
