I have been trying to figure out the best way to level my Tacoma. The strut spacer looks pretty easy and cheap, but I just can't get over the feeling that it seems like a short cut that could cause issues later.

Reading about the Bilsteen 5100 shocks, and that seems like a better way to go about it. However, it seems like everyone is adding a lift block in the back at the same time. I don't really want to lift my truck, just get the front level with the back. Is there an issue with just putting the 5100's on the front with the stock springs and leaving the back alone? I don't really plan on off roading or towing, it is just a daily driver.

So you wish to remove rake that is engineered into the truck for looks, correct?

    Just use the spacer.

I initially installed 5100s front and back with the fronts using the 3rd of 5 spring perch positions (this lifted the front about 1.1”). On the back I just changed out the stock shocks for no lift. This leveled the truck and improved the ride (IMO) by making it a little firmer and eliminating a slight nose dive when braking. I’m not sure what the ride will be like with 5100s on the front and stock on the back.

After a month of running this setup, I decided to add 1/2” blocks to the rear springs - when I noticed that with any load in the bed, the truck looked to have a negative rake.

Im pretty happy with it now.
