Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
I got up, got the family together, went out to breakfast and off for an hour drive to the Hampton Roads auto show to lay eyes on the new Tacoma. Great show but the Toyota people working at the show could give no reason why there was not a Tacoma in the show. What a let down! Maybe it was a sign not to get a one.

For some reason Toyota has botched this launch and the pricing as well.

    Botched?

I think they’ve had some delays, and I don’t much like the prices, but botched seems a little strong.

I think the tiered release of the Pro and Trailhunter is lame.

They should absolutely have production interiors in the auto show trucks and have them unlocked. That is super lame.

    Marketing is absolutely fucking up.

They gave dealers ETA's that were at the end of 2023. They weren't able to deliver because they didn't get their EPA MPG certification. Thats a pretty big botch on Toyota's part. There still is no ETA on when they will arrive.

I also think their pricing is going to be an issue when there is no reason to buy a Tacoma over its competition. They have made the tacoma simply unaffordable for most. It's hard to justify the pricing when you can get a full size for less.

True. Missing a deadline like that will get someone fired.

It appears a number of other deadlines have been missed. The configurator was late and the ebrochure is still MIA.

I have been eyeing the 24. Was at a local dealer this Friday, and the salesman told me to hang on to my current Tacoma, let it shake out and revisit it again down the road this year.. I want one, but I don't need one I guess...

I agree but Toyota seems to like to do this. There was no Pro trim in 2016 when I bought my Sport.

^^^This^^^ We are now 16 days into "2024" ! Kinda late to be a "no show" at such a critical time.

    "Lame" is an under-statement.

They're phoning in the 4th gen in preparation for the 5th gen when we finally get the EV we all want and no longer have to be bothered with smelly gas and proven technology. 5th gen is the best gen!!

Time travelers? 5th gen peoples already complaining about those 4th gen-ers, who already complain that us 3rd gen-ers complain that the 4th gen-ers think too much of their 4th gen trucks.... :D

Sir, I am offended by your statement. EV's....pffffff

I'm going to drive around my 3rd gen at 115 miles per hour, getting one mile per gallon, sucking down quarter pounder cheeseburgers from McDonalds in the old-fashioned non-biodegradable styrofoam containers, and when I'm done sucking down those grease ball burgers, I'm gonna wipe my mouth in the American flag, and then I'm gonna toss the styrofoam containers right out the side, and there ain't a God damn thing anybody can do about it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about it either. My 5th gen is the best gen will be way worse than your gas guzzling speed demon 3rd gen when I have to go bury my dead battery in the rain forest. Mc D's, you're on your own there. I'll probably just go gas station taquitos and throw my garbage in the river. So, we're not so different.

If the ‘24 Tacoma launch was done in Hollywood…the truck itself is actually Harrison Ford-level good.

Unfortunately, everything else (pricing, configurator, YouTube baloney, delays, shameless dist & dealers) has been Dial of Destiny-level bad.
