Front noise

    2012 Tacoma DC TRD OffRoad
    I had to engage 4x4 HI today and noticed grinding noise when turning left. Noise was only noted in 4x4. It pretty cold and nasty in the Midwest now so I couldn’t check it carefully but I am suspecting the cv axle . Do the axle rotate with the wheel if driving on 2 wheel drive?
    If it is the axle I am going to change both sides and do the wheel bearing as well. What brand/kit do you recommend? Truck is stock, no lift.
