    Even if it's 4wd, $25k for a truck that's almost 30 years old and has 120k miles:crazy:

Looks like either the cab or bed have been repainted too seeing as they are 2 different shades of blue.

If you think that's great I have a 2018 2WD, low miles, I'll be happy to let it go for double that. 50k. You're practically stealing from me.

Okay, why are we getting insulting here? My truck may not be 4WD, but...

    (A) Owned since new and didn't pay sticker
    (B) No payments
    (C) New frame

Eh, it's dealer pricing... The customer has an obligation to make a good decision at that point. The color alone makes it $20k tops. Old man tan and that truck is already sold.

Yeah, I see the 4wd shifter - wasn’t paying attention. Also the listing does say RWD, so I assumed prerunner

The whole bed and topper are a different color than the cab and front clip.

Yes it’s in an affluent area, but that doesn’t mean someone is going to spend $25,000 on an almost 30 year old truck that’s in better than average condition.

Here is a pretty similar truck with 100,000 fewer miles for basically the same price that sold last month https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1995-toyota-tacoma-11/

Or this one which to me looks much better and has 40k fewer miles for a fair bit less https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-toyota-tacoma-16/

Sorry, but you're imaginging things if you see a color break between the cab and the bed. The cap is a whole different mater. Nobody went through the trouble of aging a repop set of graphics on a first gen. They're consistent front to back.
The front clip is flat, perpendicular to the camera. The bed bulges out to the wheel openings. It's going to look and reflect slightly differently.

I look at pictures of old Toyotas every day. I'm not seeing anything that is tingling my spidey senses on the exterior cosmetic side. There's probably a shit show going on under those seat covers, though. And it probably needs a timing belt, of course.

I'm not suggesting that it's going to sell for ~25. I'm saying that it's very likely all original, and if it was a 5 speed could probably pull close to $20.

The green one on bat was a 4 banger. And sold for almost $29 all in.
The purple one is purple. I happen to like the color, but the vast majority of buyers won't. And wouldn't even consider driving a purple truck.

Well I'll be curious to see what happens. While I don't disagree with the price being ridiculous, the "x amount for a 30 year-old truck is crazy" argument doesn't hold up. I remember back in the 90's when you could pick up FJ40s for normal, used vehicle prices. Now a Tacoma ain't an FJ40...but this model Tacoma is arguably the culmination of Toyota engineering. Everything came together, especially with the 3.4. They're very desirable vehicles. Collectables?..Eh, maybe not. But just like with a lot of other things, they're worth as much as someone is willing to pay. Occasionally someone with more money than brains pays a premium, sets a new standard, and prices jump, permanently. This truck isn't going to start that trend...but it could happen.
