We recently bought a 2014 6sp taco. We know the clutch master cylinder was replaced.

I am having to let the truck warm up for 20+ mins before it will even think of letting me put it in gear. And even then, I often have to start in 2 because I can’t get it into 1st. It often shifts hard and sometimes will grind when shifting. We have already taken it back to the place that replaced the master cyclinder. They said nothing was wrong and they claimed they didn’t do anything to it but it drove better for a bit but still not normal. Any ideas?

Is your clutch pedal spongy? If so it may still have some air in it that needs to be bled out.

Do you know why the master cylinder was replaced? Maybe they were already chasing this issue?

The pedal doesn’t feel particularly spongy.
And I’ve asked what issue made them replace the master cylinder but haven’t gotten a response yet.
