@2Runner would this coil spring work? It says it’s for the v6 2wd 6 lug. The drop spindles only mention fitting the 2.4/2.7 95’ & 89-94 hilux.

if not, might just go with the 3/4 djm kit. The replacement upper control arm and ball joint repositioning supposedly brings the suspension geometry back to factory specs.

Belltech 443 is the same kit I used for my 99 extra cab. The pic on summit is totally wrong though. Kit comes with coils, blocks and ubolts w/ nuts and washers. Pic on the belltech website is accurate: here. I think i got a solid 2" drop up front but that's with the extra weight of the extra cab. W/ the reg cab, you may see about 1.5" drop but YMMV.

He says they’ll bolt on but I won’t have abs since there’s no sensor hole. Anyone with these spindles running without abs?

I have them on my truck but my truck didn't come with abs from the factory. If you want to retain abs you can dropship him the correct set for your truck and he can modify those.

So if you’re saying the bell tech 443 for the extra cab works with my single/regular cab, then I’ll go with that and pair it with the welded spindles. I see a set on rock auto for S-runner spindles with ABS - Anyone know if these will work for my single cab? That part number says it’ll fit according to Toyota.

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
*All* 5 lug Tacomas from 95.5 - 04 use the same spindles.

The only exception would be for ABS. But if a truck had ABS they would be the same for all trims that had ABS regardless of cab\engine\trans config

yep, the BT kit will work with your reg cab. I suggest buying new spring insulators too since they're 20 year old rubber. They sit at the top of the spring between the spring and the bucket. Yours might be reusable but I feel like this is one of those "while you're in there" kind of parts. You might as well replace it.

You will love the spindles from Aaron! Bearings and ball joints are good to do at this time as well if they have not been done yet.

Since you are going with a 4" front drop (2" drop spindles and the Belltech coils for another 2"), instead of the Belltech kit, you may want to purchase the rear blocks separately and go for a 4"+ block in the rear to level out the stance vs the 3" blocks in the kit.

Here are the Belltech coils sold separately Belltech part# 4260

I run these blocks from Speedway Motors since you can really fine tune your ride with the quarter inch or half inch sizes. Again I would do the front first then choose your rear block size to get the stance just right the first time!

    4/5+ drop for reference..

Hope you enjoy your new ride!

What's the best option (price not a concern) for a 4/4 drop, daily driver, and loading up the rear with e bikes (200 pounds or so)? Not sure if help bags are an option, or if anyone is familiar.

Just an FYI...the drop spindles will require a 17" minimum.

Also IMO drop spindles and drop coils is a bit much. A local friend did it and was rubbing too much on his 17x9 wheels. Did the qa1 coilovers and drop spindles and rides much better now.

Thought you said you were going with 17's?! The forum surely would have pointed you in the right direction!

Also.. You unfortunately wont find too much selection of the best high performance tires you can run legally on the street in 16" sizes either.. and of course tires will be the best mod you can do to the truck for the most "serious" performance gains! So another reason to move up to 17's or 18's depending on tire selection, hope you can return those still?

I run drop coils and drop spindles with over 4" drop and 18x9 wheels wrapped up with 255's with great results driving 10/10 at the autocross and no (more) rubbing issues, but there are quite a bit of variables customizing these older trucks for certain and no 2 trucks are alike. The more drop and/or tire you add, the more issues pop up, and the more mods required to make it all work!

Coil overs will give you adjustability to tune your height for your desired stance (and reduce rubbing issues) and also fine tune the handling/ride a to get the most you can out of the pickup truck performance wise.

    20220605_192607 (1).jpg

It really is all about the tires, so which tires are you going to run anyways!?!

I’ll be running these 16s with my current set of tires till they wear out but I still plan on moving forward with the 17s, coils, drop spindles, and blocks and just hold onto these 16s as a backup set.

I’m thinking 17x8 (+35mm/5.88 backspace) wrapped in 245/40r17. Would that combo with a total diameter of 24.7” and total width of 9.64” see any issues on a 2–4ish/4 drop?
