My original Goodyear Defender Duratrac tires have finally worn out at 95K. Since I now only drive HWY miles I'm looking for a quiet tire. I was seriously looking at the Michelin Cross Climate 2, 'cause they look cool, but they don't make a 265 65/R17. Any suggestions for a quiet ride?

Welcome to TW! There’s a few tire threads on here, you can check out and get some good information. What kind of weather conditions do you have?

Unfortunately "looks cool" and "is quiet" are antonyms. I would not want to put that kind of tread pattern on a truck.

Search tires by size, filter to the ones that have a 70k mile tread warranty. Pick one of those. That will be your most efficient tire.

I did have the Cross Climate tires on my Sienna...that I just traded for my 2013 Tacoma. They were the only tire I had on that van that did not spin on wet streets. Hope you can find some good info here somewhere.

I had Michelin Cross Climate on my Subaru Forester before selling it and getting my Tacoma. That thing was unstoppable.

With all due respect to Rock Lobster, looking cool is all in the eye of the beholder and the Cross Climate 2 was rated very quiet.

I live in florida where we get quite a few torrential downpours that cover the interstate with 1 to 2 inches of water. The CC2 tread looks like it would push the water to the side better than any tread I've ever seen.
That being said, because they didn't have the CC2 to fit my rims I ended up getting the Yokohama Geolander GO 15 and I'm very pleased. The ride is so smooth and quiet it's like riding in a Lexus!
