What a beautiful day, wish I still skied. A little roof raking and Baileys with coffee. 27*IMG_0180.jpg IMG_0226.jpg

After buying a fixer upper 20 yrs ago and learning/doing more projects than I care to think of, I can see why people either buy new houses or condos in that regard. My friend went the condo route, she just wants to relax on the weekends in sunny Florida. Love that idea though the not being able to work on my truck would suck

Just gave away all the gear my wife had (which was 2 pairs of skis but one was not useable), she retired. I don't miss roof raking my house..metal roof.

The thing is, most of these new builds are so poorly constructed. If you are renting that's one thing, but buying means probably more maintenance than you wish after just a few years.

I waited for this place for nearly 3 years to come on the market.
The main draw is that it has its own 2-car garage!
Our Omaha condo is just a shared garage with designated parking spaces.

I have heard that from a buddy in the trades..said the materials nowadays mean the bones probably won't hold up for 100 plus years. That said I'd rather be deciding if I want to paint a room versus tearing out walls because the electrical is 40-50 years old, there's no insulation in the walls, etc.

I mentioned the roof before..shallow pitch in the rear so 4 inches of snow would dam up (and yes it's insulated). That sucked.

Bathroom is another shitshow.outside access crawlspace and there's plumbing in there. Yucky

I have a 1 car garage but the door height is so low I can't get the trucks in. I might be able to barely squeeze mine in but it's close, my wife's Rav4 is out of the question.

yea. I get that. I don’t do much work on my Taco any more and I’ve left the 4R pretty stock. I’m glad to have space for projects tho… furniture refinishing, crafty shit, bike storage… couldn’t do that in the shared garage.
Plus is got dedicated private beach front which makes me so very happy!

I’ve watched these guys play in three stadiums, Tiger Stadium,Pontiac Silverdome, and now Ford Field, we could use a Super Bowl. I think it’s pretty cool that the Ford family owns them.

That's the thing, I would love to have a garage that I could at least get the trucks in. I could raise the height of the entry but then I lose the loft storage which is critical in my small place. I do at least use it for storage and working on my bikes.

Beach is good but I'll take my pool
