I just put a reman Denso alternator and new battery in the truck, works fine, and now I have the old one on the bench and will rebuild it for a spare. Did some searching, most of the posts are unanswered or "can't find's".

Is there a recommended kit? I went through the Ourisman site, they have full alternators and some parts (like a rotor for $221) but no kit with reg, bearings, brushes, etc.

Right now I'm looking at this one, don't know the site or whether it's a decent choice, any suggestions?

For your amusement, this was fun (lock bolt nut under the alternator.) 6 cam socket rolled right over it, heck of a time getting in there with tools to break it loose, obviously replaced with new nut. No I don't have a bolt splitter and probably couldn't get one in there anyway, and no I didn't bung up the adjusting bolt threads. :p

Thanks for listing that site though, I have a bearing in my alternator that is starting to get a little noisy and I have been pondering how I was going to go about remedying it…. Most of the remans turn out to be junk, even the Denso brand remans…. Hot garbage by normal Denso standards.

Would be cool if we can rebuild it with higher amperage parts.
