Going back into the audio realm. The Tacoma factory speakers stink so I want to give it an overhaul.

Replacing all the door speakers and going with Audiocontrol PNW6.5 components, PNW6x9'S, and PNW2.75's for the dash replacements.

Amp wise either going with an Audiocontrol LC1200.6 or D1200.6.

Torn about keeping the factory headunit or replacing with something aftermarket. This is the part where I need more information on. Pros and cons of either utilizing factory or going aftermarket.

Doors will be deadened for sure.

not interested in a sub stage for now but I have some random 8" woofers sitting in the garage

No reason not to remove it if you add a Maestro to keep all the factory integration. Haven't missed mine for 1 minute after swapping in my Pioneer.

What all entailed with the Meastro migration? As far as equipment. Headunit looks good. solid fit and truck looks very clean.

Thx d00d! The Maestro is pretty much a plug and play adapter that is used to retain all the existing vehicle features when replacing the headunit. It's a universal device with harnesses to plug into all of the factory ones + allows for some other features and customization, also retains steering wheel controls.

my preference is to always replace the head unit. that's partly the reason i ended up in a tacoma. if i couldn't replace the head unit, i would've crossed it off the list.

aftermarket head units all have way better sound shaping capabilities than the oem head unit.

Same here, haven’t missed the crappy entune at all . I went with Kenwood and bought all the wiring kits to make it plug and play. Only connection I had to make was remote turn on wire and rear back up camera.

How do you like the Pioneer, I like the fact that it can be flush mounted into the dash unlike the Kenwood and Alpine models, Do you retain the dynamic back up lines when turning thee wheel? Some things the wife says she wants to retain. I am swapping out the entire JBL system. just debating on the HU.

i don't believe any aftermarket radio maintains the dynamic parking lines.

Changed the HU. Big improvement in the sound (YMMV).

    With POS stock rear camera.

Aftermarket front camera. With my calibration notations.

    Installed.

Love it. My truck never had dynamic backup lines though. Didn't know any Tacoma's had that feature.

The Tacoma doesn’t have those type of lines and I did the flush radio pioneer nex .
I love it and honestly a game changer all around . I did a full system and it’s a huge improvement in every respect
