There's a lot of things that knock. Some are more worrisome than others. Can you post a video of it?

    Somewhere in the Mojave Desert...
    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly a 1998 SR5 PU, 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
They did the same to my 1st Gen, except it was their filter wrench they left behind that kept the plate from being properly mounted so they put two bolts in loose, and let it hang without saying anything. The plate fell off in my driveway. I felt like going back to throw the filter wrench through their window front, but kept it until I went back for the missing bolts. Their manager didn’t do anything about it, so I left… forever.

OP: recheck your oil levels asap and have someone look at it who knows Tacomas- see if there are any TW members in your region who can help (go to the Region forums)

sucks is maybe a little strong. but their pay structure is similar to fast food places like mcdonalds, and when was the last time you trusted any fast food employee to aid you in filing your taxes, calculating rocket landing trajectories, or perform repair work on a $50,000 piece of complex machinery...

i'm not saying that all people that work at quick change oil places suck, i'm saying the pay scale, benefits, and management style simply doesn't encourage properly trained, knowledgeable, and caring people to stick around for any length of time. it's entirely possible to have someone that's fully certified and made their trillions servicing bugatti's somewhere and are there just because they're bored, but the chances of that are slim.
