    Hello,
Does anyone have any experience in having leaves and such debris inside the hood and if so, how to clean that out ? When I lift the hood up and prop it, I can hear a bunch of stuff slide down towards the back of the hood. I imagine that got in there the past 4 years (2019 Sr5) I just can’t find a place to vacuum or blow all that out. The holes that it does have are very small. Thank you in advance for any helpful ideas.

Only thing I can think of is to continue hitting it with the air hose once in a while over the next several months. It should eventually break up and shake itself out.

Probably also, I'd be more diligent at cleaning out the cowl/wiper area. Even with parking mine in the garage I lift the hood every other week when the leaves start dropping. I'm guessing that's how they got there in the first place.

Thanks. I’ll break out my air compressor tomorrow. Maybe do air on one side and vacuum on the other.

I have a one car garage and the newer Suv takes it. Lol. But yeah, I park under some branches. Maybe time to chop them off.

If you decide to chop branches, be sure to inspect for healthy tree roots too.

    Could be mice stashing seeds?

My thought as well. How would leaves get in hood structure? Betting mice, stashing shit in there.

Another vote for the mice here. Lucky that they decided not to feed on your wire harness.

I know. It really shouldn’t and it doesn’t bother me a lot.

I don’t think it’s mice stashing in there for two reasons, we have several neighborhood cats and one always seems sleep in my hood so I would think mice would not go near the truck And, I’ve never seen any other signs if mice on my front or back yards. In my 10 years of living here, no mice droppings or such.

That cat might be on your hood, for a reason. Because there are mice there. The reason we are saying that, how/ almost impossible for leaves to get up in there. Unless you are driving through deep piles of them.

It's mice or squirrels. I live out in the country and they stash acorns in my wife's Subaru hood. U can hear them rolling when you open the hood. If you rock the hood rapidly up and down most of them will fall out. Don't believe the gimmicks of peppermint oil and other non toxics. Either spray coyote urine on the ground under the hood or just kill the little bturds with traps.

Air hose or shop vac usually do the trick for me. Its the acorns that are a pain in the ass... Dont know how they get in there, but they rattle around.
