Hi guys, I asked some questions to Shock Surplus regarding buying Eibach Stage 2 coil over/shocks for my Tacoma. I thought someone out there may have the same questions as me so here are my questions and their answer to it:

Hi I have a couple questions for the Eibach stage 2 kit for my 2013 Tacoma double cab TRD sport.
1.) in what case would it be worth it to get the 2R with rear reservoir shocks over the regular stage 2?
2.) I want about 2-2.5in lift in the front with 1-1.5in lift in the rear. Can I do this with just this kit alone? Description says the rear shocks will lift up to 1.5”. Are the rears adjustable to allow for this? Or does it “support” up to 1.5” lift which means I need to get a block or leaf?
3.) will putting the front shocks close to max lift (2.5in for me) make the ride stiffer? If so, can I prevent that somehow? I’ve heard of some people pairing it with a 0.5” spacer to reduce the height adjustment.

    answers:
    1. The 2R rear shocks switch to more linear valving which offers better small bump compliance and big bump support while sacrificing the slightest amount of stability under a load. They also offer a little more travel and pair better with aftermarket add a leaf kits or full leaf packs, and as with any reservoir shock will stay cooler and more consistent under extreme abuse. If you are running light, planning on upgrading your leaf pack, want more articulation, like to drive fast off road, or simply want a softer ride, they are the way to go.
    2. Rear shocks do not change ride height. If you plan on lifting the rear you will need to modify your leaf springs with a block, add a leaf, or full leaf pack. For the money we think this Icon AAL is probably the best value out there, offering 1.5" of lift, better bottom out protection, and more stability under a load without hurting unloaded small bump compliance or general ride on the road.

    3. These coilovers will ride just fine at 2.5". Adding a spacer will require a diff drop which is going to force you to lower the skid plate and take away any clearance you gained by going up higher.
