I’ve got 265 70 r17 tires on a 17x9 wheel with -12 offset on my 2009 Tacoma with a 3 inch leveling kit. Currently I have no issues with rubbing what so ever. I wanna switch to a scs 16x9 wheel with -12 offset and upgrade to 285 75 r16 cooper stt pros. Does anyone know or have anything similar and know if this would have issues rubbing. Also does anyone run 295 75 r16s on this setup. Eventually I’m gonna get bilstein suspension.

I have had that exact set up. Going forward you shouldn’t rub at all. Going in reverse you will more than likely rub on the cab mount

Cool man. Did you have the 285s or the 295s. Also would u recommend I get the cab mount chop before getting these?

I had 285/70/17 and also 285/75/16 which I believe are the same size. I would say if you plan on flexing out your truck and possibly going up in size in the future than to get it done it wouldn’t hurt to have the extra room

Do you have aftermarket ucas ? You will get away with it for the most part with some plastic trimming on pavement, dirt you’re rubbing.
Your suspension will compress so at some point you’ll be back to stock height.

No there stock upper control arms. I was looking at some but didn’t know which ones would give me more room.

Are you mainly on pavement or wanting to off-road lots?

Kind of both I use my truck to travel a lot but also do a good bit of off-road stuff.

I bought some like new used icon ucas with the delta joint off of Facebook marketplace for $300, awesome deal. Spc are really adjustable, Icon, JBA, are all good.

    Gage,

Any time you step up to 33" tall tires, a CMC is highly recommended to have good clearance. Otherwise, you'll end up rubbing every time at full lock or going in reverse. Find a buddy that can weld and get it done to avoid any headache. Btw, our wheels are 16x8 -12mm.
