Bulkhead. I tried to order the bolts yesterday but the website said it wouldn't ship here.

Why is everyone running a 340 LPH pump when a 200 or 255LPH is more than enough without going over the 15amp stock wiring?

Wouldn't it be easier to fix the connector and swap to a 200/255 LPH pump that only pulls 10-12 amps?

I've been running a DeatschWerks DW200 for a few years and it's relatively quiet and supplies more than enough fuel.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009PJPX40?ie=UTF8

I had the walbro 190 for many years but it was and was getting louder so I swapped. The DW200 was a direct swap like any aftermarket pump in these trucks.

I've been running this same pump (Aero 340) in boosted vehicles since 2017 with 0 failures (from the pump itself at least), at this point it is more a trust thing since you take the truck to nowhere and back. DW was around but lesser known back then and I refused to run a shit grade Walbro that whines and absolutely will burn out. I'd be willing to try a DW200 in the future though. The other popular pump on TW is the AEM 340... neither of my Aero installs or any AEM install I've seen has burned the wiring where John and Ian did but I would love to know if it was a looser connection or something causing the pump to over-amp (restriction or something). On paper, if that stock fuel pump circuit is good for 15a then the Aero should have 2.5ish amps of headroom still. I will just beef the wiring for mine but maybe we will try a DW200 on the next person to cross my operating table.

I had around 100k on my AEM340 before replacing it or so, no issues. And it makes no noise, there are fake ones out there BTW
I did replace the 4" wire harness in the tank and the connector box on top of the tank to be safe since there are 25 years old wires

650cc/min = 234LPH; I don't like the idea of having only 8% headroom (in reality it's going to be less) on top of my injector max flow, when it's so cheap to just get the better one.

...also I had a Walbro 255. That thing was loud.

If you reach your injector max flow (which you should really only push injectors to around 80-85% of their duty to avoid them hanging) on a 3.4L with pump gas you're nearly 620hp (496hp if you use a sane persons injector duty cycle cap).... with the same duty cycle cap on E85 you're still pushing nearly 400hp. I get the point you're making but unless you're of a select few that are going to fully build their 3.4L (and use E85) that pump Tim recommended will work well I'd think. Certainly the supercharger guys don't need a big pump at least. With the exception of @Empty_Lord and @garetcurry there aren't really any built 5VZs on this site and only one of those will ever run in a vehicle :p

Both are always possibilities too... 400HP was just the starting goal
but agreed on the duty cycle, I'd just omitted that. It's a contingency avoidance...last thing you want is running lean at max power because your alternator decided it was time to die or some weird particle blocked off part of your pump's filter or something

I think there's enough room for it to make a gradual curve rather than a tight 90. But yeah definitely a valid concern if there's not enough headroom I won't use it

Gotcha, I guess I was thinking more for the supercharger users with stock or slightly larger injectors.

Mine setup with 295cc Denso injectors, DW200, Elite 2500, 65mm pulley on TVS SC I'm right at 80-81% duty cycle.

That's about all that's in those injectors without raising fuel pressure. Time for some 400s haha, don't leave the high altitude

Add An FMU 3:1 will turn your 295cc into 350cc on demand and lower your duty cycle. I’m on stock injectors with FMU 340 AEM 60mm pulley 7.3 boost and duty cycle is around 80 percent + haltech, just got a 56mm pulley made and snout shaved

Is he in a smog zone? No good reason to use an FMU with a Haltech unless you absolutely have to keep your stock injectors.
