    Fuuuuudge.

I went to Hungry Valley yesterday after the rains hoping for a little fun in the mud, what I got in return was fucking nonsense I shouldn’t have been doing :anonymous:

So I wanted to climb my favorite climb, to many, no big deal, but I get a rush out of it. So I’m feeling the rush big time when I lost momentum exiting the rockish area. Stopped. Tried again, struggling and all of a sudden I was a passenger most of the way down. Totally reminded me of the time the 27 was getting traffic heading out of the canyons years ago. It was making me late for work, so I tried Santa Maria, which is now gated. Shit, talk about having no control the whole way down. How I managed to be lucky enough not to slide into the ditch was beyond me. That’s stuff was nasty.

Fast forward. I lost control where the red mark is. Got sideways and puckered fucking haaaaard. Got to the bottom adrenaline braking the peg and I told myself, “duuuuude.”

Well this fool decides to take Old Cottonwood Trail to go have a smoke at the top of the Meadows Trail to take in the scene and contemplate , well, THE BIGGEST FUCKING MISTAKE OF ALL TIME!!! Took me right back to Santa Maria skidding to the lowest part of ALL THE CURVES on the trail. All those curves have banking for the two wheels and such. ALSD on the 3rd Gen saved my ass. I thought I was going to bash the sides but again lucked out.

Never again, lol. So I rolled down to the wash and tested the ALSD. It works bad ass when using ETC on the new tune. It helps kick in the limited slip a lot better than stock. It’s fun watching and feeling it take control.

20 psi on the XL Wild Peaks. I don’t feel comfortable going any lower in fear of popping a bead.

Actually a good time to ask, is 20 psi on the safe side for an OEM rim?

I've gone as low as 8psi on the OEM rims to get unstuck but don't typically run lower than 14psi for general off roading. Ground clearance also starts to suffer when you get that low.

I regularly ran my Wildpeaks at 18-20psi but as low as 15-18psi without issue. Not that I was wheeling super hard or anything but handled plenty of rocky trails aired down that low.
