Have TRD OR Manual stock, roof racks and backflip cover. For the last 1.5 years I've gotten 17-18.5 mpg. Pretty consistent.

Last 3 tanks I've been getting 20-21. There's been less traffic and I've been using the AC less but not by a whole lot. Ironically, I have been revving up higher before shifting lately but that should decrease MPG.

Pretty stoked. My 2nd gen same set up got 16 MPG so I'm pretty happy.

Anyway, thought I'd share. Couldn't wait till Friday.

Fantastic! I have a DCLB, heavy bumpers w/winch, roof rack, sitting on 33's with a 2.5" lift. When I turn it off and roll down a hill I still only get 15.

The sure fire method of weight loss:
    1. Eat less
    2. Move around more.

Rock Lobster's sure fire method of good MPG:
    1. Move your foot less.

And your sure fire weight loss method should (in theory) improve mpgs. :)

I had to do a double take on where OP was from. Using the A/C less?! It's January and I'm wearing a stocking cap inside. Ahhhh, Hawaii. Okay, carry on with you flex'n how sweet your MPGs are. I'd love to come visit if you'll have me. Happy Wednesday.

PHX AZ will be 76 this weekend. Come on down and I can point out a 10 mile desert hike.

Snakes scare me, so I'm out, but I'm down for some spring training baseball.

Snakes are sleeping underground. And ... no offense meant to you ... snakes like us no better than we like them. Give them about 20 ft of space and they go into the deeper weeds.

But ... the offer stands, and I will guide you around the few snakes who are awake.

I have an Automatic and run the ECT on which bumps the rpms up a little which keeps the engine from dogging down and I get 23 m.p.g. on a completely stock truck. I also, use sport 4 and drive like my age (grandpa) :).

yeah man, sorry about that. Haha! And another good ting about Hawaii is no snakes. Bears too. But we got lots of centipedes. And feral chickens.

I'm curious, maybe dogging and lugging the engine isn't fuel efficient?

My 2022 Tacoma gets exactly the same mileage as my 24 year old 4.3 ZR2, which is 17-18 MPG.

I’m still able to get advertised MPGs in my modified taco. Love this little truck.

    Haha!

Zr2 must be lighter. Also like 30% less herspers and torques. :)

Yeah, I still get 17 mpg, and my truck is loaded AF.

Dumbfounded that stock trucks can get 17 mpg too.

I drive long distance quite a bit so mpg's are important to me. Only had the truck less than a month and noticed several things. The colder the temps the less mpg's. That's not surprising but was wondering what the thought of partially covering the radiator is? I did it in my Ram way long ago and it helped winter mpg's. Also I found that screen with the blue bar showing current mpg's and trying to tailor my style. It's amazing a small change in style can boost mileage.
I was getting respectable mileage going less than highway speed but even going 70 mileage drops to barely 20 mpg.

Yep, looking forward to roasting up some coffee beans this weekend. Got a few pounds of different varieties for Xmas. I think I'll do a mix of Haitian Blue and Peruvian beans first. Might find myself on the Salt looking for the horses or eagles too. Don't know about you but these temps in the 50's and 60's are making my feet freeze.

On topic: Keeping the RPM's below 2000 really help with MPG.

Cold weather upper Midwest and I get 13.5. Last week when it was sub-zero I was getting 11. Brand new stock OR long bed.
