Yankum Ropes Group Buy - CLOSED

The last couple that I've tried to host have gone south for similar reasons. Group buys certainly aren't what they used to be when I was hosting several a year.

Do you realize even Yankum has their own discount deal going. Buy one as a gift and get 25% off a second. I posted the Amazon link for the exact reason others have stated. Plus the Amazon deal has options. So why go thru that work. Group deals are great when it is for something that is never sold elsewhere and the MFG never puts their items on sale. They are also a great idea to help a small MFG gauge interest and give them more of a guarantee that they will have a known number of sells for a product. Which might make the difference whether they make the product or not.

 

None of this tracks unless the lower price sellers are deliberately taking a loss for some reason. They would have already demonstrated bulk interest and struck a deal with the manufacturer in order to be able to sell at the lower price. Your vendor is salty because 20 people from a forum can't compete with the market reach of Amazon

 

Not my concern that they have sale going on. That would be a concern for the company that was looking to generate revenue.

Group buys work great, even when manufacturers have sales. Take RCI for example. They have sales, dealers, and are a large company. Each GB that I host for them has hundreds of people from across several forums.

At times, dealers can get special pricing for things like large sales, and that could have been the case here. But that's not something that I'm involved with so I can't answer that. Also, 20 people would not have been enough for this GB. Maybe 50-60+ would have been, but definitely not 20.
