Its been a while since I updated this. Recent news is that I got a 2023 Gladiator in the rubicon Trim. I am still on the fence about selling my tacoma. Its for sale on TW, and Race-Dezert. If I get the money that I want, I will let it go. If not however, I might just keep this rig and maybe do a short course 3-link some day. The truck is just dialed in and its my 'shit-box'.

I have wanted a gladiator since they were announced in 2019-2020. Since I can't get a 80 series Ute from Australia (new not import), this will have to do. This build will be less extreme and will be a camping/ adventure rig.

    Build So far.
    - Goose Gear Back Seat Delete.
    - ARB compressor Mount (for the dual compressor out of the tacoma)
    - Terraflex bed rails (I didn't want to buy the $800 utility system from mopar).
    - Thin Skinz for the rear doors. These are amazing. They are an ABS mold of the inside of the door. They completely protect the doors from the doggos.
    - Blue Ridge Overland JLU attic. This is a game changer for storing jackets and misc. items in the overhead.

    Future Mods:
    - Next venture UHMW full belly skid
    - GFC Camper/ Shell
    - 35's
    - Maybe a lift at some point..
    - MUD FLAPS!!!

Went to Moab and put 200mi of dirt on it. The longer wheelbase isn't that noticable except over large ledges. Although I have some factory skids, I want to get more protection. I think a full belly skid and 35's will do wonders for this thing. The gladiator is very smooth on the road. We were able to get 18+ mpg on the highway. This is lightyears ahead of the tacoma.

It is also pretty easy to wheel this thing. I can see where my front tires are.

Did Eye of the Whale and Tower Arch. We got to test out the 4hi/lo swaybar disconnect, and the lockers this weekend. Attempted Top of the World but it was too Icy by the time we got to the first big ledge. We will come back in a couple months.

Nice acquisition! Been debating a Gladiator rubicon with a diesel myself. Buddy got a wrangler rubi with the diesel and gets 550+ miles to a tank lol. Plus they’re both super capable offroad

Its a sad day. I finally sold my Tacoma. I have had a lot of good adventures in this rig over the past 10+ years. I modded it from the ground up. Unfortunately I don't have room for an extra truck and this would mainly sit.

Stoked to find this thread as I had no idea where this thing came from, but bought prepared to do work on it. Seeing that someone as capable as you seem to be is rad!
