I started to take advantage of this warmer weather. I've got new front bump stops that I've been wanting to put on for a couple of years now. I had to cut one off yesterday. The captive nut broke off.
Additional lighting needs to be installed. Front and rear get a fluid change. Few other things get taken care of also.

Well I got these installed. I will readily admit that they definitely look better than the stock hooks but I never would have purchased them for myself because the price is just too damn high lol. Thankful to have received them as a gift though

That no good Larry motivated me to crawl underneath and take a worn out paint stripping bit to my leaf springs.
Knock some paint chips off while 'it is' wet....less dust.

When these can't strip paint anymore they're good for lighter jobs.
Run em right to the bottom.

Oh and she’s doing great at 12mpg! Was better until the speeds went up. Doing much better than it was on the 33s so that’s a plus! Quieter too (well, except for my wife). My “mall” crawler in Rockford ill (at a Costco because I live on the edge of nowhere). Wheaton here we come

And not only noises. If I smell oil burning or coolant from a vehicle 6 cars up a simian part of my brain automatically assumes it from the Tacoma and I need find the source immediately.

It's weird for me to drive the wife's Tacoma. Being stock and a different trim, everything is there but it's just off a little.

If it happens near 40mph-ish that's also an indication it's the need bearing.

Question for the group. My understanding is the Tacoma and the Hilux use the same front Diff but I don't hear our Aussie friends complaining about the needle bearing.
Wondering if like the famous Taco lean, it's related to having the heavy stuff (battery, driver, gas tank) all on the same side?

Obviously having the driver on the ring hand side distributes the weight a bit more evenly maybe and maybe that helps the needle bearing as well?

With all this warm weather and lack of snow my boss is beginning to wonder if the snowmobile trails will even open this year. He generally rides in Langlade county and the latest they have opened the trails since 1985 is February 2.
Also the ice on the Great Lakes is shrinking fast.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Trails around here were open until Tue. Were open for about 2 weeks. Almost every river has opened up again since yesterday morning. I find it hard to believe that some people think there will be good enough ice for Sturgeon spearing in a couple of weeks. It's supposed to be above freezing for the next 10 days.

Our local iceboating club is planning races on Lake Monona tomorrow, so there is that.

Well yes, that's part of the fourth gen's tricks...

If he's from Missouri he should know all about fake seasons. As we have about 27 different seasons here every year

Do the TK set the same time as you do your discs. Same fluid and it's a good practice and have it to be in

All I know is the gas tank on the 4th gen is going to be on the passenger side.
