    Afternoon all,

I’m glad to be here! I was a Nissan guy for the last few 16 years. I’d had a 4 door Frontier (which I loved) since 2013. We downsized to a single personal vehicle (Frontier) about 4 years ago since I have a work rig. Since our 9 year old girl is so insanely tall and had been having trouble being in the back seat of the Frontier on longer trips for the last couple of years, we decided to look into getting into a more family friendly vehicle. After going to the Mazda dealership on a whim on 12/31, we decided to pull the trigger because A.) Mazda gave me insane trade in for the Nissan, and B.) To take advantage of Mazda’s 0% APR for 5 years.

A big part of this plan was that I would eventually get myself back into an older pickup that I could pay cash for. I was dead-set on getting back into a good, clean Nissan Hardbody. But amongst my search, I came across this 2000 1st Gen with 216K listed for $8000. I decided to at least check it out, and ended up getting it for $6500. My first rig was an ‘85 2nd Toyota Pickup with the beloved 22RE engine, so that also played a part in me getting this one.

It’s not perfect at all, but it runs and drives great and has zero under hood issues. Brand new clutch, brakes, and lights (not installed yet, previous owner let me take them). There is some front end work that I’ll need to tackle eventually, but other than that, she just needs a little cosmetic TLC. Dents in the tailgate, scratches here and there, some deeper than others. The inside looks like it has t been cleaned maybe ever. But nothing a good deep interior wash shouldn’t cure.

Seat bezels need replaced, center console needs reinforced with some hex screws, side mirror interior trim piece needs replaced, etc. But holy hell, I didn’t realize how pricey some of these older trim pieces are

A few upgrades I’ll get to eventually are wheels, spray in bed liner, and a killer sound system. I picked up a set of 15x7 steelies for $80 from a local guy who parts out 4Runners and Tacoma. Not bad at all. I’ll eventually get them powder coated.

Anyway, hope my intro wasn’t too snoozy! I look forward to conversing with you all on this journey
