2000 tacoma 4cyl automatic cruise control problems

    2000tacoma 4cyl prerunner AT2wd
    I have a 2000 tacoma 2 wheel drive automatic transmission 4cylinder and am having cruise control issues. I was dealer installed when new and from what I have found is that it is a Toyota factory accessory manufactured by AFAIK, part number PT474-35980. I am having trouble getting it to engage. The dealer has no idea how to diagnose it due to the age of the truck. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a troubleshooting guide for this cruise control? Or have any tips on it? It would be much appreciated. Or if anyone has a new old stock complete kit for sale that is the correct part number I would be very interested as long as it is complete with instructions and troubleshooting guide. Also, If someone has , or knows where I could get a service manual that covers this dealer add on cruise kit.
