So probably a lot of y’all have seen my threads regarding the ECU/Circuit Opening Relay(COR).

I am still in the process of getting an ECU, if anything for peace of mind

I was having some intermittent startup issues, it would crank a little longer or kind of sputter on startup, but it would always crank up and once running, run and idle perfectly fine.

I pinpointed the issue to the COR, it was sticking open sometimes, not letting the fuel pump get power for a second, and sticking closed sometimes, because the pump would run as soon as I put the key in ON. Banging the relay with a screwdriver turned the pump off, so I thought it was just a sticking relay. The other option could be the ECU, and I was also getting a p1300 code for no reason, so the ECU was still a possibility.

So I got a new relay and put it in, and it worked fine! Pump did not run with the key in and the truck started just fine. Well then it started kind of doing the startup thing again, just a slight bit of sputtering when starting up. So to be safe, I installed a bypass switch under the dash so I could bypass the relay and start the truck anyway if I needed to so I wouldn’t get stuck somewhere.

I had also started the look for an ECU at this point, since my previous p1300 issue had already made me suspicious about it

Well I noticed today that when I put the key in ON, the pump now runs, like it used to do. I put the key in and took it out a few times and finally the pump did not cut on when the key was in, again just like it used to do.

So I guess the ECU is just keeping the relay closed letting power through to the pump? I don’t know what else it could be. P1300 has went away also.

Also, what originally made me suspicious of the ECU was that I pulled it out when trying to diagnose p1300 and 2 capacitors looked a slight bit suspicious-see image. I’m assuming the p1300 was being thrown due to it taking longer to crank when it was sticking open, but idk?

Not getting any codes other than p0402, but I’ve had that since I put in the deck plate mod intake, so I’m not worried about it.
