I am in the process of replacing the upper oil pan on my truck and I've been told the easiest thing to do is unbolt from the mounts and jack up the motor a couple of inches to get enough clearance to replace it.

As best I can tell, there seems to only be 3 mounts before I could do that, am I right? Are there only 2 on the engine and 1 on the transmission? Including pics for reference.

And then the transmission has got this:

    Is there anything else?

That's it as far as drivetrain mounts go. Just be sure all the other items like hoses, wires, exhaust, shifters, etc. That attach to body/ frame and drivetrain aren't getting overly stretched or binding.

I just remove the rack and pinion, the engine mounts are a bastard, and then youre working on a possible hazard above you.

You dont even have the front diff to remove, so its super easy.

Lol, wish I known that before removing the front diff! Next time I will start by posting instead of waiting til I'm halfway done. Thanks!

You have to remove the diff to get the rack out, it’s part of the process.

    the upper pan sucks
