I just got 17x9 -12 offset kmc grenades.
I want to go up to 265/70 but would like to know if it's better ride quality or does it just look better?
I'm running stock 265/65r17 and truck is completely stock and can't afford to lift it.
Should I stick with 265/65s or if it's a better ride quality I could hopefully do just a little plastic trimming and/or a 1" lift in the front (I think being a 1/2 spacer)

    Thoughts please

    Negligible.

More sidewall does usually entail better ride, but 65 to 70 is so subtle no one would feel it.

You gain ride quality from softer tires, so standard load, mild highway tires or mild all terrains.

I'd go 265 70 17 for sure, the offset may cause a little bit of rubbing, but a high caster alignment is all you typically need.

Sometimes removing the mud flaps is enough.

The tire and load rating has a far larger impact than the sidewall profile.
At a -12 you may want to stick to a 65 that's a fairly aggressive offset.

That's kinda my thought as well.
Especially since I'm on a tight budget and didn't buy a spare other than the stock one that came with the truck, plus I don't do much off-roading. Just like the looks of a little bigger tire
