    Hi TW!

Proud to say I bought my first Tacoma 2nd Gen November 2023 2WD with 255k miles on the clock. This is what I could afford and I think it looks beautiful to me. Already changed AT fluid, motor oil flush, replaced 6 spark plugs (4.0, air intake and PCV valve. I live in LA and truck starts every morning! I’m going to get a soft topper and torn between leaving the OEM bumper or getting the ARB Deluxe bumper/bullbar (completely unnecessary but I love the look) truck is driven mostly in LA city but occasionally goes to state parks. Please advise, also any other mods/maintenance you recommend please let me know
    Cheers! Ron

Congrats on the truck and welcome to the forums. You could also change the rear diff fluid. Give the MAF and intake manifold a cleaning.

Thank you! That’s next on the list, I want to prolongue the life of the engine since the 4.0 L V6 are up there in price. Looking for the second gen to last me a solid 7-10 years.

Welcome, nice truck. Personally I'd just keep it stock and invest in any required maintenance. Save for any further expenses. You're getting up there in mileage and could start to see the beginnings of more expensive repair bills. That's just me tho.

I think I will save $$$ for repairs and hold off on bumper for now. I will upload pics of frame soon. I know there’s a TW member that has 400k miles on his second gen Off Road

^ I've seen way more than 400K on these. Yours look to have been well kept and highway miles. Save the $ for all the little things that break due to age, but this truck will take care of you. Welcome to TW.

Care to share the price ?

Thanks! It’s a 2007 pre runner SR5 access cab, I bought it for $11,000 here in Southern California. According to Carfax it was purchased and serviced in SoCal all of its life. I saw about 5 other second gens and 1 first gen I almost get but were nowhere as clean as this one despite the miles. I forgot to mentioned I also replaced the serpentine belt. My goal is to keep on doing preventive maintenance to avoid major issues like a head gasket.

I really wanted an 3rd gen off road 4x4 access cab but it’s kind of a unicorn where in LA and cannot afford it at this time. However I’ve grown to like my truck a lot more and think it looks good
