Back when $5 was enough to buy gas, beer and cigs for a Friday night of hanging out in the Pizza Inn parking lot.

Better drivers ? Like slower traffic keeping right and yes, you can make a right turn on red in the majority of this once great Republic.

If everyone would obey the traffic laws, that would help tremendously! Lol!

Was reading an article on accidents, it claimed nothing really happens on accident, it is just poor inattentive drivers.

Consideration for other drivers is as rare as common sense in the modern world.

Considering U.S. pedestrian fatalities are at a 40-year high it seems like we need as many safety features as possible.

    No shit eh?

When my wife was getting her masters, I dreaded driving around campus, couldn’t tell you how many times students step right out onto the road without looking. Every year there are some fatalities at that school, seems like kids aren’t even taught to look both ways when crossing the street anymore. And when they do it, and I jump on the brakes they look at me like it is my fault. Common sense is becoming an endangered species.

2024 SR5’s are listed around $45-48k at my dealer. I found one SR listed for $40k and I can’t tell if it’s 4x4, or DC or what just yet.

Inflation sucks balls. My salary hasn’t inflated to match it.

I would disagree. Think about it. If technology has been steadily increasing for the past 40 years and now pedestrian fatalities are at an all time (40 year) high, clearly there's not correlation between "improved tech" and safety. If that was the case, we'd see fatalities at a 40 year low, but we don't.

This is just like the number of traffic signs on the road. It's so overwhelming that driver's can't even acknowledge them anymore because there's too many to look at and the brain is just ignoring them at this point.

My guess would be people with their face buried in their phone.

I've had several people walk right out in front of me totally oblivious to my vehicle approaching. Fortunately for them I assumed they would walk right in my path and I stopped and let them pass.

That’s wild. In 9 years the price of yours to mine went up $4K. Now in the 9 years from mine to a 2024 it’s gone up $20K.

Pricing would go down by a few grand if Toyota would spend less on advertising. Definitely seeing more advertising than I did 9 years ago.

    Nothing major yet.
Now $5 just buys you a water at most event venues. I was at a college football game and they had 25 oz natty lights for like $22. I was kind of speechless
