    Now that doesn’t make sense.
It sides nothing to extend the coverage, extended warranty back dates
To day 1 of ownership and mile 1. Buying it costs more to purchase at the three year point.

    Bad financial advice…..

Toyota extended warranty has to be bought BEFORE the factory one expires.

    At a substantial price increase.
I did not state it had to be purchased when new……it’s just MUCH cheaper

Wouldn’t be advisable to add on items to financing without knowing the costs

Does this warranty cover Tacomas regardless of what dealership you bought it from?

Dealer over here offered me a 10 year 100k for 2700. I turned it down because I didn’t want to finance it and didn’t have the extra funds. But still thinking about finding one while she’s new to make sure I’m covered for 10 years.

Yes, it is a Nationwide Toyota warranty. You can wait until the standard warranty is set to expire and then purchase the extended warranty. You have 3 years/36k miles to decide if you want to buy the 10 year coverage, (at that point it would be 7 years). Jerry got me 10 years/125k for $1800. If you can get a zero % interest credit card, pay it off over a year and you'll be good.

2012 ARE DCU contractor cap, Transmission aftercooler kit (Iconic Fabrication & Hayden 698), Bed Stiffeners (Kwikfab LLC), Firestone airbag leaf springs, wye connector and pressure gauge, Tailgate security mod (mfgr. by Christian06 on TW), OEM mud flaps, OEM tailgate electronic lock, Tow-Pro Elite Electric Brake Controller, Anytime Backup Camera hardwired 42 ft to camper, RCI Alum. Skid plates & cat covers, 2WD LO mod (BB Tuning), Fumoto oil drain, ECT Always-On Mod (hardness by Funman1steve), 6awg DC DC tow charger wiring, inline 60 amp breakers & battery terminals, Kill switch, KJTO driver side grab handle, Hood hold open gas struts, Scangauge III, Seat Covers (Seat Covers Unlimited... wearing poorly),
I paid a fat $2,350 for an extended duration 8 year/125mile. Unhappy with cost but hadn't gotten a response from elsewhere by the time of purchase negotiation.
On my 2012 the Toyota OEM extended warranty paid off very quickly due to factory defects. Buying a 2023 made during Covid I was extremely concerned about quality and parts source issues.
We see all kinds of crazy issues with construction equipment made in the last few years. Substitute fasteners that cause problems, defective parts, improper fabrications, and just poor quality and lack of quality control.

My MPP extended warranty covered my rear brake systems failing and the replacement at 90K and just covered my engine failing and replacement at 110k. It has saved me at least $10K.

When I bought my 2023, I only paid 1,900 for the Toyota Platinum 10 year/ 125,000 extended warranty through the dealer I bought my truck from.

Mine started at the high 3k's and tapped out low 2k's with me laughing saying, nope, nope, nope. I would've given him $1900 as they were fair on my deal for the Tacoma.

I just purchased a 7yr/75k warranty from Jerry Johnson. It was super easy and 1/3 the dealer quote. No way would I spend over $2k for this coverage, but $715 is a great deal. Why did I buy this warranty? First of all, our first 4Runner was a 2006 Sport. The master cylinder failed at year 5 and cost $3k to replace - with no warranty coverage. Yikes. Second 4R is a 2011 Trail (still own) and just bought a 2024 Limited. It has a lot more tech installed compared to the other 4Rs, thus I did not hesitate to pay for the additional coverage.
