What's up everyone, so I got my second 1st gen not too long ago, as my first one got totaled :/, and slowly I've been doing maintenance and other things to get it up to speed. One thing I've been having trouble with is that when I turn my key from lock to on, the doors don't lock. They also don't unlock when i go from on to acc or lock.

I have the haynes manual, and have tried following that to check the locks but I haven't been able to figure it out. The locks work with the buttons, and when unlocking with key from outside. Idk if it this truck doesn't have the package or something, but I figured if it has power locks it would have that feature. My old one had this feature which is why I assumed this one would too.

    Its a 2004 sr5 4x4. Old one was a 2001 pre runner, both v6 and A/T

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

There never was an option for automatic door locks (just remote keyless entry) on 1st or 2nd gens so if yours did that it had an aftermarket alarm/remote start installed that was set up to do that.
