Well, to be honest, it was right there for both of them.

Catching up. Business trip last week, 3 long days out of town, dinner with bosses blah blah blah. Little screen time

    Priceless!

I live about 15 min from the the track. Pretty area (seems unlikely, but true. not the track, but where my cabin is) Give a holler if you get any down time. My GF grew up here, had the same seats in turn 1 for 2 generations. She and her sister let them go when their parents passed away. Now we grab real estate atop a berm in the infield in turn 4. the 500 is definately one of those 'you don't know til you've been there' events. I lived nearly a 1/2 century as a casual fan. (AJ Foyt was the man) Excepted an invite to attend the first one with a "sure, why not' shrug. H o l y S h i t. What an experience. And of course...there's the mass of humanity...took this one myself.

Me too. And Mike's right. They were good games that either team could have won.

    Puppy Update.

Like Mike, I nearly blew coffee out my nose. That photo reminded me of sleeping in a lounge chair next to a friend in the solarium as we rode the Alaska Ferry south from Sitka in the late 1980s one afternoon, and 'Virginia Mary' told us when we woke up that an older couple took pictures of us two bearded Alaskans. End of another field season... (Larger bears, excuse me, beards than those at the 500.)
Last decade, I downloaded a number of YT videos interviews and crashes during the year of the flying cars during testing to build a Powerpoint slideshow for a retired airline captain's industry building composite molds and parts. (Anyone want a full-size H1 Unlimited composite hydroplane? See CameronAircraft dot com)
The safety factor of carbon fiber dissipating energy in a crash is impressive. Helio Castroneves' interview and video from the car's inflight camera is still amazing, flying and crashing in the morning, back on the track in the afternoon. I can't remember the driver's name, but it was his first 500, and the first for the team that had a single car: "There's the Indy 500, and there's everything else."

Absolutely will. This year we're in grandstand C up under the roof to stay in the shade. Last time we were entrance of turn 1 under the roof but those are astronomical in price now.

Gotta get through tax season (as self-employed I don't pay quarterly), so I'll owe a sizeable amount on 4/15, then I can turn my attention to my Tundra purchase. I still check from time to time and see some worthy purchases. A lot of reasonable prices in Texas.

Funnily enough... our club has something very similar with a Nissan engine out of an old d21 hardbody. It hasn't been run in years, but I got the go ahead to drag it out this coming summer and try to refurb it a bit.

Make sure theyre 4wd from down there if you’re looking. I got all hot and heavy over a couple inferno double cabs during my search and they were all girly-man trucks (no offense Patrick..)

Already researching Rack & Tonneau cover combos. And got a ballpark quote for insurance. Petty reasonable imo. Bigger multi-vehicle/line discount by adding a Tundra.

There's a nice army green TRD Sport for sale at an Orlando dealership (Toyota Certified Used). I just can't do the hood scoop.
