Long story short, bought a 2016 TRD Sport DC 4x4 new in 2016. Decided to trade it in six months ago. All in all, I lost $4k between original purchase price and deal on trade in. Snagged a 2023 Tundra Crew Cab SR5 with a few options including Softex seats and 14 inch display. I put on step sides, TRD wheels, black overlays, TRD grille, and tonneau cover. (Basically what I did to my Taco).

I can't help but find myself looking at Gen 3 (Taco) TRD Pros. Honestly, I do believe the Tundra is a better truck in every way. The best thing for us is the room in the back seat for the two kiddos in car seats. Still yet, I don't love it like I loved my Tacoma. This may be an unpopular opinion but I dislike most things about the gen 4 Tacoma. Knock some sense into me because there is a voice in my head telling me to offload the Tundra and buy a 2022/23 TRD Pro Tacoma.

Keep Tundra for room, or better yet, get something more economical for a commuter. Not saying you’re not, but being good dad is more cool, than cool trucks w rimz.

Good idea! Their college is on a good trajectory, and if I do swap I might be able to put some more in the bank =P.

We have a Rav4 hybrid. Car is great with amazing gas mileage. Since selling the Tacoma, the Tundra has become the family wagon it seems. Both my girls love the truck. It was actually my oldest who first said she liked the Tacoma more. =) I have a feeling I'm just going through a "grass is greener" kind of thing.

haha for sure. I draw the scoop on my Tundra with one of my kids crayons and it's equally has effective as my ol' Taco's Scoop. hehe

Tacoma back seats are not car seat friendly. Very little leg room for adults.

The kids will be in booster seats soon and the out of the car seats all together. I have an 18 Tacoma and did it and never was a problem. I would get the Tacoma Pro in a minute. If mine wasn't in such great condition and super low mileage I would get one. I just like mine better, Tacomas are a great looking truck.
