I bought a 09 Tacoma with 190k miles on it around a month ago, and I noticed that the ac/heat seemed to blow weak(this is my first Tacoma, so I guess I don't know how hard its supposed to blow). Regardless I decided to check the cabin air filter and not only was it very dirty, it basically disintegrated in my hands. It looked like it hadn't filtered anything in years. Other then obviously replacing that, should I look further down the system to make sure dirt and leaves didn't get anywhere they shouldn't which could be bottlenecking my system?

the heater core and AC evaporator, you will need a borescope probably to see anything
there is a foaming cleaner kit that floods the blend box to clean those 2
leaves might be tricky to remove

After removing the cabin filter you can (to some extent) look down into the blower fan area. Id start there. Maybe a shop vac if you see any large debris

Take a look at the resistor to see how hot it got. It's under the passenger side dash, held in with two screws on the blower cover. If the wire terminals look like they've been hot replace it. I don't have the part number, but there is an updated version.

Leave the filter out, close the filter door.
CLOSE YOUR EYES. Turn the blower on High.

That's what I do when leaves and crap fall off my filter in to the air box.
