I am new here as a member but have lurked on the site for years. I know this question has been visited before but I also know new stuff comes out constantly. I am getting a new 2023 Sport Premium 4 door long bed, I’m told one of the very last gen 3’s configured that way, next week. I have had 3 Taco’s. A 2000, a 2006 and a 2014 that I’m in now. Hate to get rid of my 2014 but panicked about the V6 being discontinued but that’s of course a different thread. lol
I have a TorzaTop on my 2014 that I have been very happy with as it just uses the rail system with no alterations, easy to install and easy to remove. That company must have gone under so now I’m looking for a similar cover for my 2023. I really don’t want to alter the bed and lose the rail system functionality. I’ve always used a soft top but I suppose I’d consider the right hard top as long as it’s easy to completely remove. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

OEM soft tonneau is the best. A bracket bolts onto the rail on the cab end but doesn’t permanently affect the rail system, and is located under the stationary third of the tonneau. Full use of the rest of the rail system. It takes about 2min to remove the cover and another two if you need to remove the bracket for some reason. It has nice beefy spring loaded hooks on the tailgate side that keep it snug and 99% waterproof. Oh and it actually looks good unlike the cheap aftermarket soft covers.

Last I knew, the OEM hard tonneau requires cutting into the bed caps so that’s basically a permanent install.
