FLUID CHOICES: 2020 TRD PRO

GREETINGS..

Any preference in brand for both axles, transfer case, and the 6M/T?

I have a feeling its all the same stuff...Suggestions and links to kits appreciated

The Motorcraft makes a big improvement in the manual.

 

I'm using:
- Valvoline

$29 75W 90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)

75W 90 gear lube for diffs... (Note that this is GL 5)

- The Toyota unicorn extract for transfer case ('cause I found it cheap...)

- And amsoil 75W 90 Manual gearbox gear oil (GL-4 as required) for the manual transmission...

Per the manual & video referenced in the link (3rd post or thereabouts), the Manual Gearbox fluid must have GL4 fluids - and NOT GL5 despite compatibility claims on the bottles.

I use amsoil for the motor, transfer case, and differential oils. I use Ford Motorcraft for the Manual Transmission fluid.

 

I third the Motorcraft unicorn tears for the manual transmission. Good stuff. 20K miles also smoothed the tranny out a lot.

 

Another vote for Motorcraft in the transmission, it made a nice improvement in shift quality.

That kit has 2 different fluids, incase you missed it.

 

Good looking out. The 75W-85 for the diffs and the 75w for the t-case.
