Hey all! Just finished doing the entire front end of my truck other than wheel bearings, new suspension and lower control arms. Truck has a 3” bilstein life with 35’s ( NO RUBBING ) I’m having an issue where I have a loud metal on metal noise when turning left and only left happens intermittent and no unfortunately it’s not the cvs as I just replaced them last night. Please help as I’m at a loss nothing is contacting anything in the front end

Then you shouldn't have your noise

When you find the witness marks you'll know where the rub is.

    Cab mount? Control arms?

    Been aligned since your refresh?

No rubbing in Control arms or body mount as it’s been chopped. Not loose brake and unfortunately not caliper whatever it is it seems to be rotating ?? Not wheel bearing hopefully not front diff, everything is aligned

Did you check the Brake Dust Shield? They are easy to bend when doing front end work and easy to overlook.

Told me it is either front differential bearing or cv axle definitely not cv axle as I have less than 100 km ON BRAND NEW ones

And was this really brand new, or a reman product?

    Sometimes things 'new' fail too.

Just playing devil's advocate here Lucifer.

Over about 8 years of professionally working on cars I've gotten probably about 10-15 brand new oem and reputable aftermarket parts that were bad right out the box. So it does happen, not very often but it does happen.
Personally I would (CAREFULLY AND SAFELY) jack up the front end by the lower control arms so its at ride height and spin/turn the wheels by hand to see which side it happens on. I would carefully and throughly check the wheel bearings, they are known to fail on second gens. If you dont see anything else and its worth the time to you I would get the new cv axle warranted out on which ever side you find the noise to be coming from.
