we had our 2nd about 7 weeks ago. he is rooming in with us since he was born. during the day its tough to get him to sleep in his crib or alone on the couch. most times he needs to be held. at night, he will sleep from about 9pm, falling asleep in my arms, then we put him down and he sleeps until about 4am. The days are rough on the wife, with a 20 month old also, but at least we get a peaceful nights sleep most nights.
07trd4x4, is your child waking to feed or just waking often?
We learned with our first son that he could not stay in our room long, we put him in his crib at day 5 and he was fine. when in our room, we would hear every little sound and wake up thinking something was wrong. he slept, we didn't.
Like others said, they have their moments with illness, new milestones, teething. sleep will come in time, the beginning is rough, but its rewarding as time goes on
(note: never thought I would ever write so much on parenting in an automotive setting)
you can always take them for a nice midnight drive around town. more time with the baby and YOUR TACO

I have a 12 week old and our secret weapon is the "boob." Pop that in his mouth around bed time and he is out for the night. He usually goes to bed around 9:00pm and is up by 7:00am. He'll wake up midway through the night for another hit of boob milk then he is knocked out again.

Like what was said earlier, every baby is different. Yours may be going through a eating binge stage which ultimately means he/she will be up for a good portion of the night. Stay strong cause I promise it will get better!

@SACTOWN How's your sleep now your kiddo is a teenager, hopefully better?

Just about to embark on the sleepless nights ourselves! Seems as though setting a routine is key.

Seemed like our little girl was waking up hungry every 60 minutes when we first brought her home. It slowly stretched out to 2-3 hours at a time after months.

Those were some foggy days. I remember driving home from work and falling asleep at stoplights. She's 5 now
