My truck has been making noises. Clunking sound. Not a constant noise. Happens mostly at a slow speed around 10-15 mph. Happens going straight and turning / braking and slowing down / accelerating from the stop.

I took it to the dealership. They can replicate the noise, but they haven't been able to diagnose without taking the front axle apart which I'll be responsible to pay for. They are going to ask Toyota field mechanics to proceed, and my truck is going to stay at a dealership overnight.

    I have a video capturing the noise at 0:06, 0:20, 0:26, 0:48, 0:55.

Any idea what this could be?

Its odd how it happens without any jolt to the body or suspension, it happens at random.

This is a wild ass guess but it sounds like a TPMS clanking on the inside of the rim. Have the tires ever been rotated?

Only the early 3rd gens I saw a seam weld that loosened off and caused an odd noise, I got lucky finding it. This seems just as hard. It's metal on metal clanking.

No money, all went to truck...
it almost sounds like brake pad clatter but like the above post says, it's random.

I just posted this in another thread too, but here it is again because I recently had a similar situation that sounded exactly like that:

I heard a metallic clinking from the front end during speed bumps, sharp turns, or accelerating at low speeds and not consistent just like you described. I thought it could've been bushings, body mounts, loose part hanging down, etc - sounded metal on metal.

Then I was stopped at a red light on a windy day and heard it. Turned out to be the flimsy front wheel-well fabric liners. It had come loose and the plastic body fastener still attached to the fabric was ramming into metal when it flapped. (In your video you can partially see them at the top center - check if any of those fasteners are loose.)

Sounds dumb, but worth a check maybe. Drove me crazy for weeks and it was the most minor thing ever.

It turns out you are correct. TPMS sensor.
