Man .... I'll tell ya..... Things are getting pretty pricey lately. I'm gonna probably do my 60k service on my 4x4 4 cyl SR once the weather breaks in a couple months. I figure that it's a good idea to hit the drain/refill on my trans fluid as well as get the xfer case since I didn't mess with those at 30k.... I've been in 4WD a lot more in the past 30k, so I think it's a good idea to get a few quarts of fresh trans fluid and see what the xfer case liquid gold looks like. I'm also going to have a good look at my brakes and replace the pads if they are getting low.... If not I'll have them on hand.... maybe I can get 80k or more out of the originals.

It's gonna cost me about $500 just in fluids and maintenance parts... Seems really outrageous, I remember when $500 could buy you a pretty nice weekend down the shore. Have a look at the parts list if your interested.....

    60k service

    Front diff ~2 qt
    12157-10010 ~$2 fill washer
    90430-24017 ~$2 drain washer

    90430-24017 ~$2 drain washer

    Xfer case 1 litre
    90340-A0003 fill/drain washer ~$2 each

    Transmission
    Torque specs:

I got the new wheels (OEM SX wheels) and tires installed and will be getting my sliders in the next couple of weeks. I’m buying a set of RSG from a good friend.

My "New" 2023 SR was delivered today,

One owner with 15K miles and very clean. Planning on 265/75R16 tires on new alloy 16x8 wheels. Along with the Eibach Stage 1 kit as I don't want it lifted, just leveled with better shocks/coils.

Here's my "new to me" 2020 SR with HD Series 20's. Its auto with the i4 motor, bit under powered, but I'm not doing anything crazy with it.

Nice truck! From one 4-cylinder to another, the longer you own it the more you will like it. HUGE difference at the gas pump compared to my daughter's 6-cylinder TRD Pro.

The 4 cyl is a turd as far as power goes. I know because I drive one... My son's v6 is a huge difference. It takes some getting used to. ECT PWR will be your friend.

Pushing heavy rims and tires doesn't help the i4 either .. rotational weight became an important factor for me with my truck.

Also huge difference in maintenance costs and overall reliability especially vs the 2GR-FKS. Those 2.7 Tacos are dope if they match-up with your intended use.

Nope. I hadn't planned on it. I would assume I need to drop the pan for that...I was just gonna do a drain/refill. 3-4 quarts. I am curious if I have an "underfilled from the factory" truck

Indeed they are .. easy to work on. No fussing with oil changes. Reliable. Reasonable on gas.

I love mine, however if I towed regularly, or if I lived in a hilly or mountainous region I would probably hate the i4...

Anyone here owned a 4cyl & traded it in for a 6cyl? What did you dislike about the 4cyl that warranted the trade?

I didn't trade mine, however my son has an SR SX package V6 (we both have 2020s so the tune and sw is all the same). I have been driving it once a week since he's been deployed just to keep it fresh. The difference is substantial vs my I4....

He does have a Borla Exhaust system and a K&N intake, so I'm not really sure how much more zip that adds, but it sure does sound tough.

When I step on the gas with my i4, it just kinda sits there and wonders if you really want to give it that much .... Then it decides to start going..... Then it takes it's good old time getting there.......once it finally gets up to speed its fine. I will say that ECT helps the laggy response quite a bit. The V6 doesn't lag quite as much and when you step on it it has the ass to get up and go. I find myself constantly having to slow it down in my son's V6.

I have also noticed on hilly and mountainous terrain that the i4 seems to labor a little going up hill, like it doesn't want to get out of 4th gear, and if it does it's not for very long. I really haven't had the V6 in any elevation, so I can't say how that does, but I would assume much better.

I dont tow much, but I would say that I'd have to get a V6 if I was doing any type of regular towing ..my son has a bass boat he tows with his truck.

I feel like my i4 really doesn't have any low end power ... In other words.... Say I'm cruzin along in 2nd or 3rd at 20-30mph..... And I punch it to get up and go quickly... There just isn't enough ass..... It's not like that at all in the V6.

All things being equal... Access cab vs access cab... I would still buy the i4 again due to ease of maintenance and proven reliability. I suppose if I wanted more pep in my step I could get an LCE header, a higher flow exhaust, the tdr air accelerator, and drive with ECT on all the time.

I wouldn't trade mine for a V6 unless I towed or lived in the mountains... I could see the i4 just being a PITA to drive in either of those situations

Do you think the accelerator helps? I’ve been pondering this upgrade, I run an afe high flow dry drop in with your mentioned parts combo, but not the accelerator, I was kind of thinking the air just gets all jumbled up in the box Anyway once it hits the filter and then the charcoal filter. Maybe smoother air into the box helps in some way ?

Totally...can't lie the V6 is more low end get-up-and-go..the v6 in an access cab must be fun

I know its not apples to apples but after some mods being re geared tuned and a header i will say my 4 banger is a night and day difference over stock i also just switched from 265/75/16's to 235/85/16 same height but thinner and even with my mods the thinner tire made a noticeable difference. If i was stock all over again first thing i would do is OTT tune it and then 235's, keep the weight down and the tire size within reason.

Your truck is looking good man. I like the skinnies too. I don’t drive it enough to need the tune,YET.
