My 09 is leaking power steering fluid from the line that goes into the rack but dead in the middle, not on either end/fitting. Normally if the line is toast the rack needs to be replaced but since it's in the middle can it be salvaged? Too damn cold here so I'll need to drop it at the local shop but would like to have an idea if it can be cut, flared and pieced back together? The pic of the fitting is on the passenger side of the truck just for reference. Not leaking there.

The bottom line in the top pic is the leaking line.

I’d replace rack and lines on the floor, and put StopLeak before hand as needed to limp it down the road until doing that.

You should be able to make new lines if you do the research on the flare type used. Many use something that looks like a bubble flare , but isn’t and uses an oring. Steel lines only, as dealing with 2000+ psi. No one will sell those lines as parts. Will need a tool to do the flare, as well as a bender. Maybe get a cheap rack at the junk yard or ebay and just take off the line and swap. Possibly a member here has an old one laying in the corner of his garage.

also likely thet the current fittings are 1/8 npt into the housing. Go get some an fittings and hose from summit. They are typically rated for 3000 psi.
