    Hello,

I have a 2018 Taco TRD, since Entune is no longer working and more apps have been discontinued I am looking to get Apple Car Play into my Taco. I used to have it in another ar and now specially since I moved to a new region and the GPS navigation is outdated I think it is time to switch it up.

I am wondering if there is an upgrade or if a newer infotainment unit (from newer Tacos) can be installed in a 2018. I would like to keep the original stuff and not switch to an aftermarket one in order to keep some of the functionality of the car.

Any info and recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I just bought a 2018 as well and I too would like to keep the factory look but I miss my android auto. I did a double din head unit swap in my Jeep WJ and it was probably the best upgrade I ever did. I found a unit that plugs into the stock Tacoma head unit and adds wireless android auto/carplay. For $200 its much better on the wallet than a replacement head unit but some of the reviews talk about low resolution and for that reason I think I will pass on it. There is a bunch of info in this thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...6-and-2017-models.792198/page-2#post-28388252
