So I’ve seen the threads about the cheap 1/8” knockoff bumpers on mall crawlers and how they look great but would probably not hold up to real use/abuse. Speculation! I’m not wasting my time on the front bumper though. I already found a used 3/16” and 1/4” custom front locally to mount my winch to.

I’m curious about the $280 1/8” rear bumper being sold under various names. Has anyone bashed it on a rock or given the recovery points a hard yank? My biggest concerns are the lower corners bending up into the body and the recovery points ripping off.

I had the Body Armor 4x4 rear with tire carrier on my last 2nd gen but the price has gone up and I’m juggling 2 builds atm. The taco is, ironically, the budget build and the XJ is the balls to the wall build. Please no “ygwypf buy American you must spend 3k on bumpers” generic advice. I’d build my own if I saw myself having enough free time in the next 12 months but I don’t. Maybe in a few years. Looking for actual experience with bashing the knockoffs on rocks here.
