Even though I don’t intend to do much off-road (wheeling) I have armed my Taco for the urban environment. Factory suspension, wheels, and tires with RSG sliders and a pintle tow eye in the receiver. These mods are mainly for appearance and protection against the everyday trials and tribulations navigating through our hectic lives. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this way, so show us your urban armor ides.IMG_3349.jpgIMG_1649.png

I don't brake check in traffic and I park on the far end of the lot.

That's all the urban armor I need, and it's free.

I would be worried someone would hit that tow eye and the added leverage would push the hitch into my frame.

…and even painted bright red, I know I’d knock my shins against that thing.

There are some insurance companies that will make you pay for the increased damages caused by hitch balls and pintle tow eyes, even if you are not at fault. You go from a mild fender bender to disabling or righting off the vehicle that rear-ended you. Might as well go full Mad Max...

I have lost 6 moths one time and 2 races another time hitting a damn trailer hitch on my knee, same damn knee. Who do I call for that? They were not painted red and both of them were in underground parking, if that matters.

It would be good to include a dash and tail cam into your urban armor package. I pay $4k a year insurance for my 21’ taco and 18’ civic. I’m 44 years of age with a flawless driving record. After calling our insurance last week to ask about lowering our rate we were told that’s the absolute best premium we could get do to the huge amount of “hit and run” occurrences in my state. They also said that my full collision coverage covered uninsured motorists BUT if I get in a hit and run and fail to get a pic or video of the car and license plate of the asshole that hit me the most I can get out of insurance to fix my vehicle is $3500. I have AAA and live in California.

I have sliders and it seems that people still manage to park in a way to hit my truck in places that aren’t protected. Pretty annoying but you can do a ton and people will still find a way to damage what isn’t theirs

Sounds like underground parking is the common denominator (don’t park underground anymore) or don’t get so close, that’s one more reason stay away from my truck. If someone splits there shin on my ring they are probably up to no good (respect the zone)

Exactly what I intended, I want someone to see it before it blasts a gaping wound right through the grill, condenser , shoving the radiator into there fan causing them to think twice before riding someone else’s ASS.

Or they’ll get hyper fixated on it and smush their way into your rear quarter panels since it looks like a sex toy.

This reminds me of a story. I accidentally dropped my boat’s gas cap into the Mississippi and needed a solution. I called around and couldn’t find anything. My buddy suggested we go to the local sex shop and buy a butt plug. I didn’t like the idea, but had no other options, so we headed down there.

We were greeted by two women, I explained my situation, and asked if latex played well with gasoline. She didn’t seem to believe my story and said, “Come on boys, tell me the truth!”

I ended up not buying the butt plug, because I’m a wanna be engineer and it seem like a good fit. I drive 20m to the nearest boat dealer and bought some shitty ass nerf ball for the same price as the butt plug. A few hours later it broke I half and ended up in the Mississippi.

I should have bought the butt plug.

My buddy reminds me of this story every Christmas.
