I just installed Tufskinz standard muflaps on a new 2023 TRD Off-road. Took the new rig out on some muddy dirt roads today to close out hunting season.

Dumb question - but I still have mud on the side of my truck. Ive never had mud flaps and curious on their effectiveness? Should I consider Rekgen XL to prevent even more mud/debri?

Good question actually, I'm assuming they help to some degree! But my reason for installing them was more for rock deflection than mud. They definitely help protect your paint.

They make a massive difference, it's impossible to stop all the mud, but it will stop the majority of it.

Solid running boards will help as well.

I had some RokBlokz XL on mine, they are effective, but I am off-road a lot, not SO effective then, for the fact that I tore the
2 back ones off!! If you don't off-road, or drive on flat forest roads, then they are ok, if you hit more rough terrain roads or
deep snow, not so good!!! I have a used set FS if interested!! :)

Flaps reduce mud slinging. They don't eliminate it.

Check out how much escaped my tuffskinz flap and painted my trailer here. Without the flap it would have been worse, plus it would have painted my rear rocker panel in the same manner.
