I was recently introduced to NextDoor from a post on TW and was told it would get very interesting with rants, complaints and all the above.

I thought it would be nice to start a post with people sharing their local NextDoor Post that are worth sharing.

Day 1 on next door, finally found something juicy

    https://nextdoor.com/p/9MCSf-pQt7m-?extras=OTExNzkwMzQ=

guy is asking for money on a gofundme to get a place to stay for his family because he lost his house and the comments are very bashful lol, lot of people think it is a scam and many are referring to government agencies that can help him. I feel bad but i know the agencies in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and they would help him greatly, idk why he isnt going to them first

I found how he lost his condo in the comments: "condos were privately owned the owner was selling the condo we weren’t aware of that and we were month to month the owner wouldn’t do a year lease when we moved in three years ago. We are still waiting for the insurance money to come in from the accident. Her brother stated we could stay for six months just to save up money after being their for a week and a half he told us he was behind on rent and bills so I gave them what I had to help them out since they where helping us out then a few days later he said we had to leave by the 13th or he was getting evicted so that is why I’m asking for help because we lost the condo I lost the money I had saved to help him out and now we have no money saved and no where to go so I apologize our situation is giving a bunch of red flags we weren’t expecting any of this to happen."

I did a quick search of him. Looks like him or someone with the same name was arrested back in 2017 for assault and battery.

Also found someone with the same name with a local address in the area he is posting shown as a home owner.

I sympathize for this guy because my son also has autism but at the same time, all the autism services my kid receives, they always ask what my living situation is and if i need help

Not a rant story, but a bunch of people in my neighborhood reported kids throwing rocks, breaking windshields and leaving boxes of dog fecies at doorsteps (all within about 2 hours). I posted camera footage showing the group of kids going down my street with said fecal box and immediately people were trying to figure out who the parents are.

Sure enough, a lady who was shown the post, joined NextDoor just to instigate a fight with everyone and curse out her neighbors because we posted her kid on the internet. She didn’t even think to talk about the damage they caused.

She pmd me throwing a tantrum, but by some lucky RNG was able to get her on the same level and understand the situation. The conversation ended on a high note and never heard from her again.

The kids were the lady’s and the lady was the wife of the HOA President.

I lasted exactly one week on NextDoor, nothing but a bunch of b**ing and moaning. I'm outta there.

Wife still goes in there from time to time, and what caught my attention about your post . . .

This area is all HOA subdiv neighborhoods. All of it. The "high class" sought after subdiv's pay $1000 or more a year in HOA fees for having the benefit of a rec room or a brat-infested common pool or something where no one obeys any rules of conduct . . . most of them are closer to the schools. We're fortunate, one of the older subdiv's with a pretty low fee. They mow the entrance lawns and hang Christmas lights at the entrance for the "fee" but that's about it.

What we find ironic is the NextDoor bit***ing about kids vandalizing, littering, stealing packages and all the other random crap kids do is almost always in the "high class neighborhoods." Make of that what you will.

To stay on topic . . . funniest posts we've seen are people complaining about fireworks and their dogs. Fireworks are technically illegal here, but good luck with that. On the 4th and NY our neighborhoods are lit up with mortars that would put Dodger Stadium to shame, it's awesome. Someone always call the cops, they always drive through and watch the show for a while. There's always tons of whining on NextDoor about how inconsiderate people are for living their lives and their poor dogs when the fireworks come round. (We have a dog too.)
