Damn that is nice! Like those beige steelies. Sure does bring back memories. Mine was the vehicle that got me into Toyotas. Have owned them ever since now, over 30+ years. We didn’t take as many pictures back then as we do today, amazed I still have this. From when I brought home from the dealer. Put a Downey 3” lift on it, header and heavy duty clutch a year later.

Stunning. What I wouldn't give to go back and buy all these up when they were selling for $500. Those pictures are amazing

Was that the stock color of those steelies?

It was, of course I hated them as they weren’t deemed cool back then, and put chrome Outlaws on. Funny how steelies are cool now.

That was the absolute base model, didn’t even have a back seat, but that was so Toyota could skirt import taxes.

Awesome, always thought the steelies came in white. Yours is an exact match to mine so it's a great reference.

Those were silver, even still had the chrome beauty rings on it. Pulled those almost immediately. Was the second owner, don’t think the original did anything to it other than drive it.

Hey all - selling a very lightly used Slumberjack tarp. Kryptek Camo pattern I bought it in May 2022 and have only used it a few times. Still in original bag and with all the components. It works well and sets up quickly. There is a hole in the bottom of the bag from travel. Pic of the tarp deployed (sorry for the silly beer pic, it is all I really have showing the tarp deployed). Selling because I don't use it and will be getting permanently mounted awning on new shell. $100 and happy to meet you in Vegas/Henderson/Boulder City area.

Are you on Facebook? There is a very active group that I am a member of that is always putting together trail rides. Look up Vegas Toyota Offroad (VTO) in groups on FB. Awesome group of Toyota enthusiasts. You'll learn about cool trails, and there are many, and events to attend.

You are only 2 hours from Death Valley ... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/death-valley-off-road-adventures.60777/

Parhump is 1 hour from Vegas, 1 hour east of Furnace Creek and the last decent place to buy at acceptable prices. Gas at Furnace Creek can be $6.50/gallon, 20oz water can be had for $5.00 at the Furnace Creek store ... microwaveable pizzas for $16. Bring water and food. But many many places to be "off the grid" and to find abandoned mining operations.

Can anyone recommend a decent shop to do some simple lube/fluid changes and not screw it up:

Oil - and properly grab a sample for analysis
    Rear diff
    Transfer case
    Prop shaft lube
UCA ball joint (not OEM, it’s just another zerk to hit)

I would do these things myself, but my vehicle is stored in Vegas while I live on the other side of the country, so that’s not very practical. Needs to be a place I can schedule a time and they will actually get it done in some fraction of a day reliably while I’m in town at the start of a trip.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I mean i can do this for you, or if you're in town and need a spot/tools to do it I could help. I like to use Shadetree Auto Hobby Shop.
