C4 bumper question?

I have a C4 slim bumper trying to trade for a bed rack. Will the second gen c4 bumper fit a 3rd gen?

 

Is the C4 bumper you have made for 2nd or 3rd gen? Got any photos?

 

I’m sure it’ll fit but the lines won’t match with the 3rd gen.

 

i bought it for the 2nd gen. i’m trying to post the photo but it won’t load. I think you’re right, it will mount but the lines won’t be right. It’s a nice set up.

Just so I understand completely, you are saying you bought the bumper with intention of mounting it on a 2nd gen (specifically it would have to be the gen 2.5 from 12-15 only), but originally someone had this mounted on a 3rd gen? Or did you buy it from someone who doesn't know which version it is but they think it's for a 2nd gen? I ask because for a long long time I was searching for the 2nd gen version of this exact C4 bumper. I ended up buying one that was advertised to me as fitting a 2nd gen, but ultimately it turned out to be a 3rd gen. Seller was cool and took it back, but it can be difficult to tell the difference by just looking at it. Here's a photo of the one I had as reference - this is for 3rd gen:



Here's another image of the 3rd gen bumper taken from the thread on the vendor section. Looks like the one I have. Big differences I see are the diagonal winch access holes slant the opposite direction, and there is more metal directly to the sides of the recovery points.



Contrast those against this image from the 2nd gen install thread in the vendor forum. Notice the slightly more angled shape on the outer edge, and the winch access cutouts going the other way.



I would guess you have a 2nd gen version but just a guess. Congrats if that's what you wanted, it's a very rare bumper and I tried to persuade them to make more but they said it will never happen. If I'm mistaken about something and you are intending this for a 3rd gen then I call dibs on buying yours because they are unobtanium lol.

 

no no? I bought it and had the set up on my 2.5 gen. I set it up myself. I just need to know if the 2nd gen c4 bumper will mount to the 3rd gen

 

Ahh that makes sense, sorry reading is hard sometimes. As others said no it will look weird. Sell it to me minus the winch?
