What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

After spending about 3 hours, I have installed my new Expedition Essentials T3PAM, my hondo perfect squeeze, and a radio holder. After the price drop I immediately jumped on it. (which quickly went to a 6 week backorder)

My cigarette outlet port stopped working but the usbs on top continued to work. After checking fuses and re-tracing the steps I decided to try and see if backing off the wire tap about a thread would work and it did so all is back to working order. I hate the wire taps included but now I know how to use them better. (They had posi-tap connectors)

Also busted up my knuckles quite a bit during the cig port part of the install

 

Replaced our Leer 100xr with a Topo Topper Mesa wedge camper this past Friday!

 

Hold on to them,,, I looked to get some and can not find the Black ones,,,Good idea.

 

Inflated my Toyos up from 30 to 35 psi. Mayhap gimme some improved MPG’s dunno. Best I can get is 21 if I stay under 70. These trucks need an 8 speed

 

Watch treadwear in the middle of the tires. There is a point where you either lose MPG (it is a truck after-all, OK) or you leave the middle of the tire wears down.

 

Those wheels look really good on the LR and with the new shell. Think those wheels should’ve been standard on the 3G off-road.

 

What bracket is that?

I had a Maglight seat bracket like that in my previous vehicle, a JKRU and thought it was in a perfect place.

 

Ran the coaxial cable (for a CB) through the taillight cavity, along the frame and into the cab through the grommet under the driver’s seat….



For anyone planning on doing this, get at least an 18’ cable. The 15’ I ordered came up short ……



I guess I could use a coupler and get 3’ cable but I’d rather do it right to give me the best chance of a low reading on the SWR meter.

The fun part is snaking it through the frame past the fuel tank.

 

Installed TRD skid plate. Been wheeling for 3 years with the stock splash guard

 

Not necessarily worried about mpg just experimenting.

I wasn't able to find any black ones online either, I was glad to find these. I'm guessing my dad had got these at least 15 years ago or so. I couldn't had been happier with the fit.

 

Once I rebuild my 1st gen, I'm planning to put these on there, and then getting SCS f5 in black for the turd.

A little late but beginning of the year I like to change out the filters, did the cabin last month and the engine today. Interesting new design with an extra layer, we will see if it's better than the OEM.

Is that white foam glued onto the filter? It looks more like shipping protection for the pleats, from here.

 

No, it's stuck on there. Even the Amazon comments refer to the extra material.
