Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
The fact you need Dual Voltage really limits your Options !!

I would just buy a dedicated 120VAC Mig Machine and call it good.

Though a dedicated branch circuit makes things much easier.

It really comes down to the person under the hood!

Scratch start tig sucks unless you do it long enough for the muscle memory to just take over.

I spent more time cleaning contaminated tungsten then welding.

Lift arc is tricky because it seemed every machine I used was different enough to cause problems.

It is so nice having remote output control at hand when things get a little to hot .

    @SR-71A

I just happened to have run across an old post, and guess what? I specifically mentioned the only welder to give me any problems was...you guessed it, a 210MP

I remember it was giving me shit running fluxcore

Only aluminum I ever cut was a single bottle opener

I just went by book and never adjusted

With that said, I'm playing around mocking something up for someone and decided to use my scrap aluminum I paid $8 for

    20240206_123511.jpg

    1/8" dirty as fuck aluminum
    0.8 pierce delay
    130ipm
    45 amps

Everything cut really nice and clean and I think if I lower my pierce delay to 0.6 or 0.7, my pierce should be cleaner as that's the only dross I got

Been raining a lot so haven't cut much. Still need to do that battery tray but in 16 gauge steel

Made this right now as one of yesterday's requests

    20240206_164509.jpg

Drew it myself cause I hate the font others use and turning a pic to an SVG did not render the sharpest lines

    Of course!

Stainless steel the other day too

Except my aluminum is a huge chunk of scrap, it's really nasty and I got it cause it cost less than a meal at McDonald's and I wanted some to practice on

Yeah, like I said I started looking at Lincoln simply because its what I know. I try to be a buy once cry once type of guy when it comes to bigger purchases like this. Hence why I was looking at name brands and haven't considered anything else up till now.

Theres a few reasons I landed on the Lincoln 210 MP specifically. First, aside from the screen and fan issues, it seems to be a well liked machine from everything I read. It should be capable of everything Id ever want to do with small MP unit. Plus dual voltage. And prices seem to be coming down now that the newer 215s are out.

Also, I live in Maine. Not much up here besides trees and some more trees :D. While Im not deadset on getting a 2nd hand unit, it does make sense financially if I want a name brand. If it turns out I hate it, dont use it enough, whatever.. I sell it no loss. The 210 MP is one of the only name brand multiprocess units that I see pop up semi-locally in New England.

It seems like at the end of the day I just need to jump in and try it. Worst case I sell it and get something else while learning a few things along the way :notsure:

Can any of you gurus put this into a file so I can send it to send-cut-send to have cut? Or be able to cut yourselves? It’s a mount plate for my class 9 transmission. 1/8”.

Plenty of us could! Just pick your person

For anyone replicating that it'd be easier to provide multiple measurements such as the radius of a few of those ends

Or really the hole sizes especially, if anyone's going to take the image and scale it up to a known dimension (something I do from time to time)

That's exactly what I'd do as well.

Give us the hole diameter and we can a lot with it.

And to add, I do a lot of one-off items already so if these other guys like @koditten or @Wsidr1 want to take it on, I'll respectfully stay off of said item

I'll let him post up more info and draw it up if need be

Really only have to cut out that battery tray in mild that I made for myself in aluminum

I'm thinking I want to cut out another dinosaur too, a pterodactyl :anonymous:

Oh of course, I just meant if no one else jumps on it

The "dinosaur for myself" would be after I cut out a paying job

All I'd have to do is place the sheet of metal in the gauge I need and send it since everything else is already set in place ;)

It's why I post nothing at all or multiple things at once (mostly)

Thanks y’all. I’m not sure how to measure the radius’s. The inside edge is more important than the outside as it follows the transmission. Hole drilling isn’t important either as I can do that but 1/4” holes would work.
