Hello! I just bought my first Tacoma yesterday, a 1998 4x4 RC 2.7 5M with 230k indicated and not a spot of rust underneath. The previous owner neglected it unfortunately but eberything wrong is manageable. The paint is shot, it needs a new steering rack, tie rods, brakes, lower control arm bushings, tires, there is an oil leak, going to have the valves checked, sounds like the exhaust header is cracked, but I got a pretty good deal and am getting it dialed in this week plus adding some 16x8 rough country steel wheels and 265/75/16 Toyo AT3s. The engine runs strong and the trans shifts smooth and its much more fun to drive than my last truck, and its so small!

Im really thankful for this forum giving me useful information pre-purchase and Im having a great time diving into everything on offer here now that I get to fix up my new project!
